One girl + one dress + 365 days.
The project was conceived by Sheena Matheiken, who has pledged to wear one dress for one year as an exercise in sustainable fashion. Here's how it works: There are 7 identical dresses, one for each day of the week. Every day Sheena reinvents the dress with layers and accessories - some vintage, some hand-made (including lots of Etsy buys!) and some which are hand-me-downs.
The project is also a year long fundraiser for the Akanksha Foundation, with all contributions at the end of the year going to the Akanksha School Project to fund uniforms and other educational expenses for children living in Indian slums.
To read more or to donate to the cause (this is a great reason to spring clean your wardrobe!) visit The Uniform Project website.

I've been meaning to blog about this for weeks! Glad someone else is being more conscientious than me. :-D
