the hills are alive

May 16, 2010

It was a gloriously sunny afternoon in Melbourne and what better way to spend it than to take a drive out of the city. My destination was Olinda in the Dandenongs, and this shop - Heaton & May - in particular.

Heaton & May stock a tempting mix of stationery, fashion accessories and homewares and I'm pleased to say that from this week they will also be stocking Rabbit & the Duck journals, tote bags, clutches and wallets!

How sweet are these flowers in the watering can?

I decided to take the road less travelled on my way home, and was lucky to escape the hordes of weekend traffic. For once I actually wanted to drive at 40km/h to be able to take in some of the beautiful Autumn scenery. So many wonderful shades of green, brown, red, orange and yellow. I'm now home feeling very inspired to enjoy the coming Winter months. Tonight the wool quilt is going on the bed and a big pot of sweet potato and ginger soup will be on the stove. Bliss!
