snap to it!

January 28, 2010

Today has been filled with lots of cutting, pinning, and more cutting. And some ironing. So much ironing! It's a necessary evil that comes with this job.... anyhow, there are lots of new wallet designs being stitched up. And some new journals too. The wallets have already made their way into this shop and this one. Journals will follow soon!
Mention this blog post when you order to receive 2 wallets for $35 AUD! Shipping is extra. Snap to it!

happy australia day

January 27, 2010

Yesterday I spent the day at beautiful Como House. It was a perfect day - sunny skies, a light breeze, time spent with friends, time spent chatting to lovely customers. Here are a few snaps from the day:

View from my stall to the house.

We had the marquee set up again.

Redoing the blackboard....can you spy my other tattoo peeking out from under my dress?

A neighbouring tempting!

There is also a great post over at Etsy to celebrate Australia Day and some of the talented designers we have - check it out here.

australia day the old fashioned way

January 20, 2010

The Rabbit & the Duck will be spending Australia Day playing croquet, admiring vintage cars, and perhaps having some photographs taken in an old fashioned photo booth at Como House in Toorak. We'll also be having a market stall there (oh yes, there is some work to be done!).

Entry is $12 (adult), $9 (concession) or $30 for a family.

Bring along a picnic lunch for a perfect day out!

i heart you

In keeping with the 'organised' 'prepared' and 'ahead of time' goals I've set for Rabbit & the Duck this year, I'm excited to share with you our latest greeting cards. OK, so Valentine's Day is still a month away, but why wait until then to tell someone you think they're spunky? These and a few other designs are now available over at Etsy

I also spent some time last night procrastinating (I mean working) on some other ideas to get you inspired for the season of love and romance.
How great is this camera + album kit from Kikki K? You could plan a little adventure somewhere, take a few snaps, enjoy the fun of getting your photographs developed, and then put together an album to remember the day.

Or how about writing a love letter to that special someone? There's nothing like receiving a real handwritten letter (or real newspaper and magazine clipped words) in your postbox.

Disguise your gift with some gorgeous wrapping.

And these are my favourite. You could leave little stamped notes in your lovers underwear. Or maybe you want to use them on the brown paper lunch bags your lover takes to work. So many options! Buy your own set of stamps here

i made it for myself

January 12, 2010

Running a crafty business,  you often get caught up with making stuff for everyone else and never seem to find the time to make something just for you.

So, with a few spare minutes the other night I finally finished this wooden button brooch I've had sitting on my work table for the past couple of months. Hooray!
